GRACE HOUSE DROP-IN CENTER
ABOUT US
Grace House began as a dream in the heart of Pastor Jack McConnell. Though a night shelter existed in Hickory NC, the homeless had no place to go during the cold winter days. Many wanted to find employment or pursue an education but without access to showers, clean clothing, and the internet, these aspirations were vain wishes.
With the help of Abundant Grace Church, Pastor Jack opened the first Grace House at 600 Highland Av SW in January of 2009.
The idea of a day program for the poor caught on quickly and with the help of many churches and private individuals, we have been able to offer many valuable services to our community.
